Discover & Define
Defining the partner experience
Before redesigning the portal, I needed to understand the ecosystem it served. Finastra's partner programme spanned multiple teams, systems, markets, and partner types—each with different goals, responsibilities, and information needs.
Through workshops with the Partner Ecosystem, Product, Sales, and Salesforce teams, I mapped how partners were recruited, onboarded, trained, supported, and enabled to sell Finastra products. This revealed not only where the portal fit—but more importantly, where it didn't.
Understanding the ecosystem
Conversations across cross-functional teams uncovered the complete partner lifecycle—from recruitment through onboarding, enablement, commercial engagement, and long-term support.

Mapping the journey behind the portal
The portal was intended to support the FusionOrbit Partner Program, but important tasks were happening elsewhere. Training materials were distributed offline as PDFs, sometimes shared on demand via email. Deal registration relied heavily on email and manual requests, support information was difficult to locate, and communications were spread across disconnected channels. By mapping these workflows, I shifted the focus from improving individual pages to designing a connected partner experience.
Designing for distinct partner needs
Discovery revealed
This discovery changed the brief. Instead of redesigning pages, I set out to build a connected platform that could support partners throughout their relationship with Finastra—from first engagement to long-term growth.
Strategy
One portal, connected partner journey
Rather than redesigning pages in isolation, I reframed the portal as the central experience connecting every stage of the partner lifecycle. The goal was to create a single destination where partners could discover information, complete key tasks, and access the systems they needed without navigating disconnected tools.
Design Principles
01
Centralise essential partner tasks
Bring training, support, deal registration, programme resources, communications, and documentation into one connected experience.
02
Connect the ecosystem
Integrate Salesforce, Impartner PRM, Mindtickle and Whatfix into a seamless flow.
03
Design for partner context
Tailor content and actions based on partner type, role and lifecycle stage.
04
Reduce friction
Replace fragmented workflows with guided journeys that simplify everyday tasks.
05
Learn and evolve
Use analytics, campaign insights and feedback to continuously improve.
Platform ecosystem
The Partner Portal became the experience hub that unified partner systems, content, and workflows into a connected platform, reducing context switching while supporting partners throughout their journey.
Design & Build
Crafting the experience
A strategy is only valuable when it becomes a product people can use. Working within the constraints of Impartner PRM, I redesigned key experiences, introduced reusable patterns, connected surrounding platforms, and continuously expanded the portal through iterative releases—turning a static information site into a product partners relied on.
Chapter#1
From outdated to intentional
The existing portal had evolved organically over time, resulting in inconsistent layouts, outdated visuals, and disconnected navigation. I began by auditing every major page before redesigning the core dashboard, landing pages, and information architecture.
Chapter#2
Designing within platform constraints
Impartner PRM wasn't a traditional design canvas. Every experience needed to balance usability with technical limitations.
To deliver a modern experience, I combined UX design with front-end implementation.
Chapter#3
Evolving the platform
Chapter#4
From Portal to Platform
Beyond redesigning interfaces, I progressively transformed the Partner Portal into a connected platform—bringing together partner enablement, commercial workflows, self-service, events, and analytics in one cohesive experience.
Impact
Continuous improvement
The portal evolved through continuous measurement rather than one-time releases. I used Google Tag Manager, campaign analytics, Power BI, Impartner MarketView, and partner feedback to understand engagement, validate changes, and prioritise future improvements. This iterative approach helped refine content, navigation, onboarding, and partner journeys over multiple releases.
Every release was informed by data. I combined analytics, campaign performance, user feedback, and platform insights to understand how partners used the portal, validate design decisions, and continuously refine the experience.
